Ghanaian blogger, Mr. Kobina Ackon, popularly known as Wode Maya, has urged African journalists to tell their own African stories through social media.
Speaking at a social media and skills capacity building workshop in Harare this Saturday where local media practitioners were gathered, Wode Maya challenged the journalists to share their stories in a conversational way so as to inspire other Africans.
“Write stories that promote Zimbabwe in a positive way and celebrate Zimbabweans that are doing great things in their own way to change the narrative of the country,” he said.
Wode Maya has since visited 24 African countries, including Mozambique, Somalia, and Namibia, documenting their stories, which have reportedly attracted visitors and investors in those countries.
