A call has been made for the nation to preserve local languages and culture as a way of promoting the traditional values of the indigenous people.
These sentiments were given by renowned television personality Dr. Rebecca Chisamba when she appeared on the Start Up Capital Show this Thursday morning on Capitalk 100.4 FM.
Popularly known as Mai Chisamba through her talk show on national television, ZBCTV, she has been a big advocate for upholding cultural values.
Mai Chisamba said people should not look down upon their traditions and culture but should rather embrace native values, which are good for the nation.
She added that local languages are important and citizens should be proud of using their mother tongue as it resembles our greatness as a people.
Furthermore, the popular hostess challenged parents to take extra care of their children during these times where they are exposed to many dangers, including harmful content on the internet.
Mai Chisamba said it is important for families to have quality time together as this helps in creating strong bonds within families.
