As blood shortages continue to affect the country’s blood bank, the National Blood Services of Zimbabwe (NBSZ) is set to introduce an
incentive of a five-liter fuel coupon to all possible blood donors.
The token of appreciation will be launched on January 6. NBSZ communications officer, Mr. Kudakwashe Chidziya said this initiative is meant
to ensure that there are adequate blood stocks in Zimbabwe, hence their partnership with Redan.
“This is a strategic partnership under corporate engagement strategy which is meant to partner with corporates for financial and non-
financial assistance, as NBSZ is a non-profit organization. Redan and its Corporate Social Responsibility mandates also realized the need to
save lives by contributing in blood collection partnerships meant to boost national blood stocks,” said Mr. Chidziya.
This initiative comes after the revelations that the nation has been hit by a critical shortage of blood group type O especially Harare and
Bulawayo branches, which are now left with only a few days' supply.
